A year of giving: our community in motion

Throughout this anniversary year, we are proud to celebrate the achievements of our individual supporters.

Following her visit to EORTC headquarters in 2025, Princess Laetitia of Belgium launched a significant donation drive in 2026 in support of EORTC and the EORTC Cancer Research Fund. Impressed by EORTC’s decades-long commitment to improving treatment across many cancer types, including rare cancers, where patients often have limited or no options. Princess Laetitia expressed her deep commitment to advancing cancer research and her pride in supporting our mission.

Following in the footsteps of her mother, Princess Astrid, who presided over the EORTC Cancer Research Fund from 2003 to 2015, Princess Laetitia also recognised the urgent need to take action against cancer, engaging friends and family in her fundraising efforts.

In spring 2026, Amber Hoffmans and Ellen Roelandts took part in the Leuven Half-Marathon and the Trailberg Half-Marathon respectively, overcoming challenging weather conditions and physical demands to complete two very different races. As researchers themselves, they combined their passion for running and nature with a cause they deeply care about. They strongly believe in the importance of clinical cancer research to improve survival and quality of life, recognising that its impact extends far beyond the medical sphere. Through their commitment, they were also keen to support the training of future generations of oncologists.

We are deeply grateful to all our supporters for their energy and dedication, and to everyone who has contributed so far.

Together, your continued commitment —on the road, on the trail, and beyond—is helping to advance research and shape a brighter future for people affected by cancer.

You can also help support EORTC’s game-changing clinical research to unleash scientific breakthrough and transform cancer patients’ lives. Learn how to GET INVOLVED, or Make a Contribution Now.
