  • PROPOSAL

    EORTC Groups propose research projects.

  • EORTC BOARD & APPROVAL

The proposed project goes to the EORTC Board for approval.

  • ASSIGN A TEAM

Once approved, an EORTC HQ team is formed with a project manager that oversees and coordinates all aspects of the study.

  • SOURCING of FUNDS

Once the study outline is approved by an Independent Review Committee, the ECRF is informed and seeks to provide the appropriate funds and ensure the viability of the trial in cooperation with the project management team.

  • FROM DEVELOPMENT TO CONDUCT PHASE

This is the lengthiest period in a cycle of a trial and includes all necessary steps to ensure development and completion of patient recruitment.  Patient panel involvement is an integral part, providing feedback on clarity and readability of study-related documents.

  • DATA COLLECTION & ANALYSIS

At the end of the recruitment period, the EORTC collects all data from the research and analyses them at HQ. All data is stored on a secure EORTC cloud.

  • PUBLICATION

Results are published in a scientific journal and presented to the medical oncology community at annual conferences.

WE NEED PARTNERS LIKE YOU

Improving cancer survival requires independent world-class research that leads to breakthrough clinical trials. The EORTC is uniquely positioned to deliver on this mission as the strongest cancer-fighting organisation in Europe.

We operate on a scale that would be impossible to undertake at a national level with a record of achievement dating back to 1962.

No tumour is too rare to tackle at the EORTC. Our research is solution-driven for all types of cancers, regardless of their commercial value.

We leave no-one behind because ultimately, cancer touches us all. If not directly, through our families, friends and our countries’ healthcare budgets.

We need your help to power our progress forward, and welcome you to join us on this journey. Together, we can increase patient survival and quality of life.
