Supporting the next generation of researchers

This year’s Emmanuel van der Schueren Fellow, Raffaella De Pietro, shared her journey into radiation oncology research and how the fellowship is helping her contribute to the future of the field. Her story reflects the importance of investing in talented early-career researchers and fostering international collaboration.

The next generation was also represented by the Young Radiation Oncology Scientific Council (Y-ROSC), with three young investigators presenting research on innovative radiotherapy techniques, cancer surveillance and the combination of radiotherapy and immunotherapy. Their work demonstrates the breadth of emerging talent across the EORTC network.
